Year-end close: review the period and retained earnings
Review ERPClaw's period-close validation, then use close-fiscal-year to transfer profit and loss balances to retained earnings.
Finish the period’s corrections and complete the month-end review before closing the fiscal year.
Review before closing
Run trial-balance for the company and period. Run validate-period-close to read the period’s income, expenses, net income and balance check. Inspect the results and confirm that the retained earnings account and fiscal-year dates are the ones you intend to use.
Close the fiscal year
close-fiscal-year transfers profit and loss balances to retained earnings through a period-closing voucher and marks that fiscal year closed. The action requires confirmation before posting.
Review the returned voucher and ledger entries. Check the next fiscal year separately: closing the current year does not create the following year.
Keep the review record
Read the entries with get-system-audit-log and retain the closing reports in the company’s records. Use the audit guide to interpret the entries returned by the system.
